Title: Joker and Harley Quinn
Medium: Acrylic Paint, permanent marker, and graphite Size: 30.4cm x 45.2cm Intention: Through this painting, I wanted to use it as my comparative study with the idea of manipulating the idea of something from two different artists. But it didn’t turn out right so I changed it to the fact that mentally they both weren’t sane and gave each other nicknames, to hide the abuse that really went on through their relationship. I had outlined my hand then painted the inside, but then I did it again to represent both Jokers and Harleys’ handprint. |
Title: >$0.75
Medium: ink on paper Size:42.5cm x22.6cm Intention: I did this because genuinely this mess with a woman. How can men get paid more than a woman? It’s because they think mentally we are unstable and are hormonal, or an emotional wreck. That really messes with a woman’s mental health, and also her identity because we tend to suppress these things that we cant control. |
Title: Simpson, Bart
Medium: Chalk pastel on paper, black permanent marker Size:30.4cm x 45.2cm Intention: I wanted to show the most unstable character on the Simpsons, which is Bart. I looked up a picture of Bart drew it, but I also wanted to show him high in a sort of way. I wanted to show how mental health also affects not just real-life people but also people who are cartoons. |
Title: Addiction vs Abuse
Medium: Acrylic paint on board Size: 30cm x 25cm Intention: I wanted to highlight the difference between having Alcohol abuse and Drug addiction due to instability mentally, or even with struggling with your identity. I wanted to show how they both have a big impact that people even confuse addiction and abuse of something, and how there is a difference. |
Title: Identity Through the Colors
Medium: chalk pastels on paper Size:30.4cm x 45.2cm Intention: With this image, I wanted to show how different colors represent different types of ideas of identity that I have been through as a high schooler or within my life. I use colors to show how I feel or express through colors, so I just expressed how I felt through this. I blended or at least tried to blend the colors together because that is how I see my life and how I found my identity. |
Title: 痛
Medium: Chalk Pastel on paper Size:30.4cm x 45.2cm Intention: My intention for this work of art was to do a piece that shows a connection between two of my classes that I didn’t like at first. But I just drew a mouth with different types of acid drugs to represent how I felt because I feel that I really went through a lot of pain in the classes I thought that I would love. ( I love Chinese and art now) |
Title: Sadness Through the Lines
Medium: paint on a Lizzie Maguire board game Size: 24.9cm x 50.6cm Intention: My intention when it came to making this is I wanted to highlight lines, specifically the different types of lines that I did. I wanted to have a sort of modern twist to the painting with the background and when I had added the word sad I wanted it to stand out, yet blend in. |
Title: Stress Reliever
Medium: Paint on paper, permanent marker Size: 30.4cm x 45.2cm Intention: My intention when it came to making this painting was to show how people use drugs to relieve stress but the drugs people usually turn to are marijuana, and they use a lighter to light up the drug. I added my own type of spice when it came to the smoke because it shows a different type of color of mental health issues. |
